Process design – Development of an ideal combination of processes (such as binary/azeotropic/extractive/multi-pressure distillations, membrane separation, adsorption etc) to achieve desired target.
Basic engineering – Overall mass-energy balance, process flow diagram, estimates of utility consumption, equipment sizing and basic data sheets, piping and instrumentation diagrams and instrumentation and control philosophy.
Detailed engineering – Mechanical design and drawings of equipment, detailed equipment list, datasheets for procurement, layout in plan and elevation with load data, storage, and utility systems.
Operating instructions – Procedure for startup, normal operation, and shutdown - including emergency shutdown.
